Scam or Not

Scam or Not is a planned swipe-style learning game where people decide whether a message, call, or offer looks legitimate before they reveal the answer.

Why it exists

Most scam education is passive. A fast pattern-recognition game makes people practice spotting pressure, urgency, and fake authority instead of only reading about them.

  • Short rounds
  • Real-world scam patterns
  • Explanations after every decision

How it should work

Each round should show a realistic message or situation and ask a simple question: does this look legitimate or not? The answer matters less than the explanation that follows.

  • Swipe left or right
  • See the warning signs
  • Open the related scam page for deeper context

Why it belongs here

The game uses the same taxonomy and scam pages as the main OpenScam index, which means the educational surface and the searchable database reinforce each other.

  • Built from the same scam database
  • Easy to update as new scams appear
  • Good fit for future onboarding and awareness campaigns
